HARMONIZED SALES TAX – TRANSITION
Presented By: Canada Revenue Agency
The Province of British Columbia announced their intention to replace the provincial sales tax with a harmonized sales tax (HST) that would be administered by the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA), and the administration of the program would generally follow the same rules and tax base as the GST.
The Cascadia Chapter of NIGP has organized this presentation by the CRA for its members and other interested public sector procurement officials addressing the transitional rules that would apply for:
Tangible Property Continuous Supplies
Services Imported and Exported Taxable Supplies
Intangible Property Goods and Services Brought Into British Columbia
Housing Other Types of Real Property
This presentation will assist the public procurement practitioner in understanding and applying the HST transitional rules in their day-to-day activities.
